Dr. Linda Degutis, Assistant Professor, Yale University School of Medicine 
 
Dr. Linda C. Degutis is currently Associate Professor of Surgery (Emergency Medicine) and Public Health at Yale School of Medicine. She is the Associate Research Director for the Section of Emergency Medicine, and Director of the New Haven Regional Injury Prevention Program. Dr. Degutis earned a Bachelor of Science degree from DePaul University in Chicago, a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Yale University and a Doctor of Public Health degree from Yale.

Dr. Degutis worked for Senator Paul Wellstone (D-MN) in 1996-97 as a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellow, and continues her involvement in health policy and public policy issues on local, state and national levels. Her prior experience in working with trauma patients and emergency department patients has resulted in a strong interest in issues related to alcohol problems and injury, with a particular emphasis on policy issues and community activities. She is the author of numerous publications and is an active member of the American Public Health Association, the American Trauma Society and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.


Christopher DiStefano, Student, Haddam-Killingworth High School 
    As youth co-chair of the Connecticut Coalition to Stop Underage Drinking, Christopher has been involved in a variety of programs and projects including the newly reorganized statewide youth initiative PACT (Prevention Association for Connecticut Teens) and our Annual Conferences. During the CCSUD's 9 th Annual Conference he participated in a workshop highlighting PACT and presented awards to individuals and communities recognized by the CCSUD for their work in preventing underage drinking.  In addition, Chris testified for the state bill to stop underage drinking at house parties. This past August he attended the OJJDP 6 th Annual National Leadership Conference presented by the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center in Tucson, Arizona.  Aside from his work with the CCSUD, Chris is on both the football and wrestling team at Haddam-Killingworth High School, is an active member of SADD, and his Local Prevention Council.   Chris is a sergeant in the
Madison Police Explorer Post and plans to major in Law Enforcement in college.
